Are there any alternative products similar to the Kindle 2 by Amazon?

If so, where to buy the books "for these products and are better than the Kindle 2?

Other thing I know is if you get a iPhone or iPod Touch, they have apps called “Kindle” that works the same way. They have apps for everything.

For ebook readers, the best alternative is sony reader. However, if you are in the U.S., it is still a better bet to get the Kindle 2 rather than the sony reader. The Kindle 2 has free 3G wireless access, and other benefits like more book title support by Amazon, the unique text-to-speech function, etc. Here is a good review on this:

Another alternative is to install Kindle app on iPhone, so you can use iPhone like the Kindle to read ebooks. You can find some good reviews here about this:

However, there are quite a lot of drawbacks for this alternative… There are many people complaining about the small screen size, discomfort for long reading, no wireless access and no access of Kindle store for instant download of books and newspapers when reading on iPhone. If you only use the device for reading occasionally then it should be fine. But if you’ll use it for reading often then the Kindle 2 is still the best option.

Hope it helps.

The Kindle is the most convenient for buying books. There are other alternatives like sony reader but many users complaint that the choice of “books” they can find is much less than Kindle books provided by Amazon. You can read a review from an ebook lover here, she owns both Sony Reader and the Kindle 2:

If you are wondering whether you should go for the Kindle 2, I’ll suggest you to read the actual customer review on Amazon. Read one or two reviews and you should be able to make up your decision:

There are 3rd party E books aka wanna-be’s the two leading are the Amazon Kindle & The Sony Reader, & yes you do have to buy the “books” pros to getting Amazon a larger selection of titles & good prices, con- the actual Kindle has a steep price on the other hand there is Sony pros the price, also the new Sony Reader is touch screen, however the selection of titles isnt as large compared to Amazon’s
